Ever lost your phone or misplaced your keys, even though you could have sworn you just put them in your bag? Later, somehow they magically reappear even though you checked ten times? How is that even possible?! Welcome to Tufuur, the magical forest where everything you thought was lost miraculously manifests as so called Thinglings.
Tufuur is a narrative exploration adventure where you take on the role of the guardian of the forest, the jackalope Luna, who lost her memory. As you go on a journey of self-discovery, explore Tufuur and unravel hidden paths. Help Thinglings along the way to discover what it means to be lost (and found). Tufuur is a slow-paced game about self-reflection, come to life in form of magical forest, that invites you to get lost for a while. Where the joy of exploration from A Short Hike meets the emotional depth of Spiritfarer.
Below in-engine mockups showcase the game‘s look as well as exemplary gameplay aspects.
Having already created a technical proof of concept and tied down the art style, we are now working on thoroughly testing and buffing out our already strong narrative system and gameplay. This puts Tufuur in the prototype stage, where we also lay the robust technical ground-work for the rest of the project. The next milestone will be to create a clean vertical slice towards the end of the year. This project has been backed by the FFF Bayern though we are still actively looking for a publisher to become a part of this story as well.
Tufuur is financially supported by FFF Bayern and the budgetary funds of the Free State of Bavaria.
